Dropped section of drain repair
Clearing a blocked drain with high pressure water jetting for a customer at a house in Chiswick, London we were certain all was not well within the section of underground drain we were dealing with, so we decided to take a peak inside the drain with our CCTV pipe inspection equipment.
The inspections identified a dropped section of drain as the recurrent cause of the blockage and confirmed our suspicion of some structural damage within the drain. But, there was also a more concerning problem than the blockage. Waste water was running to ground in close proximity to the property foundations. This had been going on for quite some time, as the issue had gone undetected during previous third party blockage clearance works.
Using our CCTV equipment we were able to show the homeowners live digital images from within the drain to explain the issue. Although understandably concerned, they were reassured that we had a cost effective and efficient plan of action to undertake a drain repair without the requirement of a disruptive and very expensive excavation.
Returning to the property as a matter of urgency the following morning we were able to install a patch lining that, not only created a watertight seal on the damaged section of pipework, but by using air pressure to inflate the patch lining in situ we were also able to lift and permanently re align the dropped section of drain.
